Bramble & BladeGrounds & Landscape Call (555) 555-0164
How it works

Three phases, one crew.

Nobody sub-contracts a stage of this out. The person who quotes the job is on site when it is set out and on site when it is signed off.

Walkthrough

We walk the property with you before we quote a number, because a price given from the kerb is a guess and you will pay for the guess later.

  • Where the water actually goes when it rains hard
  • How the sun tracks across the property through the day
  • What the soil is, under the top inch
  • Whether the irrigation reaches what it is supposed to reach
  • What you actually use the space for — which is usually not what it was built for

A written scope, a fixed price, and a start date. Forty-five minutes, no charge, and no one follows up with a second call trying to sell you something else.

We build it

Grade, drain, hardscape, beds, sod, fence — in that order, because every one of them gets dug up by the one before it.

  • Boards down over turf wherever a wheelbarrow runs
  • Gates closed behind us every single time, whether or not there is a dog
  • The site left tidy at the end of each day, not just at the end of the job
  • A crew of three to five, and the owner on site for the set-out and the sign-off

If something has to change mid-job, you hear it from the owner the same day, with what it does to the price, before it happens.

We keep it

The part that decides whether a property still looks like this in year three. Same crew, same day of the week, all year.

  • Mow height raised through the hot months and dropped again in autumn
  • Every hard surface edged — drive, path, kerb, patio
  • Line-trim along fences, beds and anything a mower cannot reach
  • Blown clean, including the drive and the walk
  • Irrigation heads checked as we pass them
  • Clippings mulched back or bagged out, whichever the season wants

Rain moves the visit, it does not cancel it. If we miss a day you get the next dry one, and we tell you which.

Worth saying out loud

What we do not do.

Four things get asked for often enough that it is fairer to answer them here than on the phone. In all four cases we will point you at someone who does them properly.

  • Tree work above head height. Anything needing a climber or a lift is a different trade with different insurance. We will take the low limbs and refer the rest.
  • Chemical treatment programmes. Broad-spectrum herbicide and pesticide application is a licensed activity and we are not licensed for it.
  • Irrigation beyond heads and lines. We will replace a head, clear a line and fix a leak. Controllers, backflow and new zones go to an irrigator.
  • Pools, and anything inside the fence line of one. Not our trade and we would only be in the way of the person whose trade it is.
